Moray McGuffie has been involved in motivational speaking and sales training for some considerable time. In conjunction with this he was also a very successful sales person and senior sales manager in a number of large UK and international businesses which were involved in direct selling and business to business sales, in the fields of financial services, direct sales to business, industry, and recruitment.
Before getting into sales and sales management he achieved many records in the grocery industry as a young branch manager. During his teens he started practicing the martial art of Shotokan Karate and was in fact the first person other than his instructor to achieve the coveted black belt in his club. There were over thirty students who were graded higher than him when he started learning, some of which were just one grade away from reaching Black Belt. They all left over the years, as the training was very tough. Trained by both British and the Japanese, he eventually left the grocery industry and became a professional instructor training a number of students to reach high grades, and regional and national titles. He believes that through this he learned about both discipline and humility from his instructors. Unfortunately his sporting career was cut short due to injury.
This led him to find a career in the financial services industry in which he excelled. In one company he was put on a programme to achieve senior management. He was told would take seven years. In fact it took him only two. As a result of this he became well known and was given the nickname "Quantum Leap". During this time he devised a system of sales called the "Diamond Method", which proved to be extremely effective. News spread of this, and led to him being asked to tour the country explaining his success secrets.
In the 1990's he studied Neuro Linguistic Programming and methods of sales using this proven form of communication with top practitioners. He then devised sales courses using NLP techniques. In fact, these actually brought outstanding results. He received reports that some sales people actually doubled their production in a short period of time from many different types of business.
Moray still speaks to businessmen's groups and companies on a regular basis. His seminars always contain plenty of humour, as scientific studies have produced proven results that retention of information improves when people have a good time learning.
He is also in demand as an after dinner speaker where he shares many amusing stories from his own life and the experiences of others. Currently he is working on bite size training sessions which will be sold on CD and will be available to download on the internet. These will take the form of short and intensive sessions to get speedy results.
